With the increasing number of Americans complaining about the drinking water they are receiving and an estimated two billion people suffering without access to good clean drinking water, having water purifiers/filters in your home is now considered a necessity. Americans are complaining that the water which they drink from taps tastes and smells different. The different taste in the water is attributed to the chlorine, lead and fluoride present in it, and these chemicals sometimes make the water undrinkable.
Unlike, many other nation states most of our cities get there water source from a municipal supply. This means the water we drink is recycled from waste water. Well, what else is there to explain except water filters do just that, they further filter water form water sources before it comes through your taps. Some water purifiers and filters are more sophisticated then others but generally they all do the same thing. A whole house filter is one of the higher end models which are able to filter water through the entire house; this includes showers and even your garden sprinklers if needed.
Whole house water filters are a popular choice if youre extra cautious about the water your family drinks. Installed in your main water pipe line this system first uses UV rays to kill any bacteria that may have survived from your water source. After this is completed the water is then passed through to the whole house system where water is filtered down even further. The result is pure water from all water outlets in your house. If you want the best then whole house is definitely something to consider.
Other great options are undersink filters, countertop filters and faucets filters. These filters are much cheaper compared to whole house filters but it works just as good. The only main difference is that you wouldnt be getting pure water throughout your entire household. These filters can only filter one water outlet at a time depending on which outlet the filter is attached too. The other main difference is the rate at which water pressure is exerted form taps; when using these filters water pressure would be slightly lower than normal as opposed to whole house filters which gives off the same pressure.
In my opinion, if your familys health is of utmost importance than you should invest in water purifiers/filters, not as a kitchen ornament but as an essential part of the kitchen.
